THROUGH ORGANS R US (ORU), THE GOLDEN GATE RELAY WALK (GGRW)
supports 125,000 Americans waiting for organs by promoting the need for organs. Since 2005, the transfer of the baton from walker to walker has symbolized the transfer of an organ from donor to recipient.
KATIE GRACE (7/16/02–12/25/15) WALKED A MARATHON DAILY TO SURVIVE
After Katie Grace Groebner of Mankato, MN, developed pulmonary hypertension, her family moved to Clayton, CA, in 2008 for treatment at Stanford Hospital. On June 14, 2014, Katie Grace received a new heart and lungs and was able to blow bubbles through a straw. Although her heart was strong, Katie Grace's lungs failed before a second donor became available. After bringing joy to the GGR finish for seven years, Katie Grace cheers from above.
SHE'S BACK! DELANEY RETURNS AFTER 18 YEARS
